The Denver Hospice President Ben Marcantonio Discusses the Importance of Hospice Care on Mile High Living

In recognition of National Hospice & Palliative Care Month, Ben Marcantonio, President of The Denver Hospice, appeared on Mile High Living yesterday to share insight into the history of hospice care, The Denver Hospice’s longstanding commitment to the community, and the importance of planning ahead when it comes to end-of-life care.

With nearly 50 years of serving patients and families throughout the Denver area, The Denver Hospice has been part of the community's healthcare landscape for generations. During the interview, Ben reflected on the organization's history and how hospice care has evolved over the years to provide compassionate support, comfort and dignity to patients facing serious illness, while also supporting the families who love them.

Ben also addressed an important message that is central to National Hospice & Palliative Care Month: the importance of having conversations about end-of-life wishes before it is too late.

Although these conversations can feel difficult, talking openly about personal wishes and preferences before a health crisis arises can make a meaningful difference. It gives individuals the opportunity to express what matters most to them and helps loved ones better understand and honor those wishes when the time comes.

National Hospice & Palliative Care Month is an opportunity to increase awareness, dispel misconceptions and help more people understand the support hospice and palliative care can provide.

Thank you to Mile High Living for helping share this important message, and to Ben for representing The Denver Hospice and its nearly five decades of compassionate service to our community.
