Care Synergy is pleased to announce that Dr. Emily Guth, DNP, RN, will join the organization as Chief Operating Officer on September 21.

Dr. Guth brings more than 15 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, with a career focused on post-acute, value-based and multi-site care. Her background spans hospice, palliative care, PACE, care management, clinical operations, quality and regulatory compliance, and organizational improvement.

As COO, Dr. Guth will help lead Care Synergy’s day-to-day operations while working closely with Affiliate Presidents, service line leaders and teams across the organization. The role includes supporting high-quality care delivery, strategic execution, operational efficiency, financial sustainability, regulatory compliance and continued development of a strong, mission-driven culture.

She was responsible for regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, care coordination and operational improvement across multiple teams and communities.

Previously, Dr. Guth founded and led a healthcare consulting practice focused on operations, compliance, accreditation readiness, EMR optimization and workforce development. She also served as Vice President of Clinical Innovation at Evergreen Nephrology, a value-based kidney care organization, where she built and operationalized clinical programs for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage kidney disease (ESKD).

Dr. Guth is also a longtime educator of nursing students. A graduate of Cedar Crest College, she later returned to her alma mater as adjunct faculty, and also taught at DeSales University, providing clinical site instruction and project mentorship to BSN students. She facilitated nurse residency programs supporting newly licensed nurses through their transition to practice.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Guth held leadership positions with Wellpath Nursing and Lehigh Valley Health Network, where she directed multi-site clinical operations, care management, population health, professional development and quality improvement initiatives. Her career has included leadership across large and complex healthcare environments, as well as direct patient care experience.

Dr. Guth holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nursing Executive Leadership, a Master of Science in Nursing in Nursing Leadership and Public Health, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is also a registered nurse and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and American Nurses Association.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Guth to Care Synergy and look forward to the experience, leadership and perspective she will bring to our organization and Affiliates. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Guth as she begins this new chapter with Care Synergy on September 21.
