Supporting Families Through Every Step of the Grief Journey

At Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, caring for patients also means caring for the families and loved ones who walk beside them. Grief is a deeply personal experience, and our bereavement counselors are committed to providing compassionate support before and after the loss of a loved one.

Last week, members of our bereavement team—Danielle Smeed, Mecca Bell, and Sarah Lee—recorded an SRC Senior Talk radio segment discussing the vital role hospice bereavement counselors play in supporting families through their unique grief journeys. During the conversation, they shared how grief is different for every individual and how personalized support can help people navigate one of life's most challenging experiences.

Community conversations like these are an important part of helping people better understand grief, reducing the stigma that can surround it, and encouraging those who are struggling to know they are not alone.

We are incredibly proud of Danielle, Mecca, and Sarah for representing Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care with such compassion, professionalism, and heart. Their commitment to educating our community reflects our mission to provide exceptional care that extends beyond the bedside and continues to support families through every stage of their journey.

Thank you to Danielle, Mecca, and Sarah for sharing your knowledge and helping foster greater understanding of grief and bereavement in our community.
