Honoring Those Who Care For Others: Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care Celebrates Caregivers at Annual Pampering Day
A day of wellness, gratitude, and community support recognizes the extraordinary dedication of family caregivers across Colorado Springs
Family caregivers dedicate countless hours to caring for loved ones, often putting their own health and well-being second. That's why Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care was honored to sponsor this year's Pikes Peak Area Agency on Aging Caregivers Pampering Day, a special event created to celebrate, support, and recognize the remarkable individuals who care for others every day.
As part of our sponsorship, we were delighted to provide breakfast for attendees as they began a day focused entirely on self-care, connection, and renewal.
Throughout the event, caregivers enjoyed a variety of wellness experiences designed to help them relax and recharge. Activities included massages provided by one of our dedicated volunteers, essential oils offered by our Volunteer Department, paraffin hand wax treatments, line dancing, refreshing mocktails, and opportunities to connect with fellow caregivers who understand both the challenges and rewards of caregiving.
Attendees also heard an inspiring keynote presentation from nationally recognized caregiver advocate Jane Barton, whose compassionate insights encouraged caregivers to prioritize their own well-being while continuing to provide exceptional care for others.
The event also featured a meaningful tribute made possible through the generosity of our community partner, CarePatrol, which sponsored a commemorative tree planted alongside the event plaque. The tree serves as a lasting symbol of gratitude and recognition for the caregivers whose compassion strengthens families throughout our community.
At Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, we understand that caring for caregivers is an essential part of providing compassionate hospice and palliative care. Whether someone is caring for a loved one with a serious illness, navigating the end-of-life journey, or simply balancing the demands of caregiving, support makes a meaningful difference.
We are grateful to everyone who helped make this year's Caregivers Pampering Day such a memorable event and remain committed to partnering with organizations throughout the Colorado Springs area to provide education, resources, and encouragement for family caregivers.
Because when caregivers are supported, everyone benefits.
