Pathways Leaders Discuss Patient-Centered End-of-Life Care on Good Morning NOCO
What does hospice care really look like? For many people, the answer is shaped by misconceptions, uncertainty, or outdated information.
On June 24, Jessica Moen, Clinical Manager at Pathways, and Natalie Petersen, Pathways Director of Business Development, joined Brian Gary on Good Morning NOCO to discuss some of the myths, misunderstandings, and common questions surrounding hospice care and the end-of-life journey.
During the conversation, they emphasized that hospice care is not about giving up hope. Instead, hospice focuses on helping individuals live as comfortably and meaningfully as possible while receiving support tailored to their unique needs and goals.
One of the key themes of the discussion was the importance of a patient-centered approach. At Pathways, hospice care begins by listening to the individual and understanding what matters most to them. Every person's journey is different, and care plans are designed to reflect each patient's wishes, priorities, and values.
Jessica and Natalie also discussed how organizations like Pathways can help families navigate difficult conversations, access additional resources, and receive emotional, spiritual, and practical support throughout the end-of-life experience.
By fostering open dialogue and providing education, Pathways hopes to reduce fear and uncertainty surrounding hospice care while helping individuals and families make informed decisions about their care options.
We are grateful to Brian Gary and Good Morning NOCO for the opportunity to share this important message with the Northern Colorado community.
