A Community United in Remembrance This Memorial Day
This Memorial Day weekend, more than 200 community volunteers gathered at Pikes Peak National Cemetery to place flags in tribute to the brave men and women who served our country.
For the past three years, Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care has been honored to help coordinate Flags for Fallen Veterans through our We Honor Veterans program. The annual event serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by members of the military and the importance of preserving their memory with dignity and respect.
At Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care, serving veterans is an important part of our mission. We recognize that veterans often have unique experiences and needs at the end of life, and we are committed to providing specialized care that honors their service while supporting them and their families with compassion.
Seeing hundreds of volunteers come together to place flags across the cemetery grounds is both humbling and inspiring. Each flag represents a life dedicated to service, courage, and sacrifice. Together, they create a visible expression of gratitude from a community that remembers and honors those who gave so much.
As we observe Memorial Day, we reflect on the lives of our fallen heroes and extend our deepest appreciation for their service to our nation. We are grateful to everyone who participated in this meaningful tradition and helped ensure these veterans are remembered and honored.
