Honoring the Heart of Pathways: Celebrating Our Volunteers’ Impact

From thousands of service hours to meaningful moments of care, Pathways Hospice volunteers continue to make a profound difference in the lives of patients and families

Last week, Pathways had the privilege of gathering together for our Volunteer Appreciation Brunch to celebrate the incredible volunteers who help make the mission of Pathways Hospice possible every day. While the brunch gave us a special opportunity to recognize and thank our volunteers in person, our gratitude for their service extends far beyond a single event. We appreciate and celebrate our volunteers each and every month for the compassion, comfort, and care they bring to patients, families, and our community.

This past year, 144 volunteers contributed:
  • 12,432 volunteer hours (up from 10,012 in 2024)
  • The equivalent of 5.98 full-time employees
  • $481,218.44 in volunteer value
  • 1,321.75 hours of companionship visits
  • 150 hours of musical performances
  • 109 veteran ceremonies honoring those who served
  • Nearly 600 hours of continuing education completed by volunteers
  • 187 hours spent baking cookies for patients and families
During the brunch, we also recognized several outstanding volunteers and teams whose dedication reflects the heart of Pathways:
  • Above & Beyond Award – Jodi Mullins
  • Quiet Impact Award – Rynell Mathers & Carol Peacock
  • The Extra Sprinkle Award – Pam Orzell
  • Community Builder Award – Darlene Barrailler
  • Heart of Pathways Award – Veteran Recognition Committee

To every volunteer: thank you for your commitment, generosity, and for walking alongside patients and families during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

We are deeply grateful for all you do and look forward to the future of Pathways together.
