Care Synergy Board Appoints Doug Flinn as Chairperson

Colorado Springs, Colo. –  The Care Synergy Board of Directors has appointed longtime board member Doug Flinn as chairperson.

Flinn served on the Care Synergy Board of Directors for almost five years prior to his appointment as chairperson and was most recently serving as vice-chair. He also served on the board at Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care (PPHPC) for 10 years and was appointed board chair for multiple terms.

Flinn, a resident of Monument, works as the general counsel and chief of staff for the Diocese of Colorado Springs, where he provides legal and staff support for more than 500 employees, 42 parishes and seven Catholic schools throughout Colorado Springs. Over the years, Flinn has conducted dozens of presentations on end-of-life issues and Catholic bioethics for churches and community groups.

“Both my mom and dad died in hospice programs in southern Alabama — my mom many years ago and my dad last February,” Flinn said. “Both of their hospice programs were extremely compassionate and helpful. I hope to bring that same compassion to the organizations I serve.”

Care Synergy President and CEO Tim Bowen is excited about the experience and insight that Flinn will bring to his board leadership.

“Flinn’s knowledge of end-of-life issues, history of board service and personal passion for our mission make him an invaluable asset to our board and staff,” Bowen said. “We are grateful to have his leadership on our team.”

The Care Synergy Board of Directors is made up of industry leaders and individuals with experience in medical care, healthcare, nursing, social work, hospice care and palliative care. The board provides strategic counsel for the Care Synergy organization and its five affiliate companies.
